Monochrome Playroom

February 01, 2016 Brittany Kavanaugh

I always get a lot of questions about where I purchase things for my kid's playroom, so I decided to share the details with you here!

When looking for a new home I knew I wanted to have a room or area that I could turn into a playroom for the kids. The house we ended up purchasing has the PERFECT room! It's toward the back of the house and has a sliding door leading to the backyard, which I love because we always get natural light shining through.
The walls in this room were white when we moved in & we decided to keep them that way since we were doing a monochrome theme.
We tore out the flooring in our whole house and put in new carpet in the bedrooms & darks wood flooring throughout the rest of the house. I was really hesitant to put wood in the play room though...I wanted carpet because it is more cozy, but knew that it would get ruined in a PLAY room! I figured we would put the wood in that room and just get a large rug. Well, once the carpet was installed they had a huge piece leftover and we were able to use it as a rug for this room! So it worked out PERFECTLY! And I didn't have to purchase a large area rug (which are always super pricey).

This is the view as you walk into the playroom. This grey couch can flip open and be used as a cozy footrest if you keep the back up, or you can push the back down & it works as a bed. It also has speakers and can connect to bluetooth, so sometimes I play Pandora through the couch!

The teepee & banner are from Tnees. They are extremely well made and high quality. Cash absolutely LOVES it. He goes in there often to read books...and hide when it's nap time!
The bookshelves are the perfect height for Cash to be able to reach the books by himself.
The little couch is actually just a kid's flip sofa from Wal-Mart & has a cover over it.

This little table is perfect for puzzles, eating and crafts. There are slots on both sides, that are great for holding paper & crayons.  I also love that the chairs are easy for Cash to get on & off by himself.

On the other side of the room we have an adorable play kitchen. Grandma got it for Cash for his birthday last year and it has been one of the best gifts. The marquee letters are one of my favorite things in this room! I got them from hobby lobby and I am so happy with how they look in here.

There are still a few things I want to add to this room, but as of right now I am taking a little decorating break!
Psh...I say that now, until I go to Hobby Lobby again. MUST BUY ALL THE THINGS!
